Offered by the Education Center on Computational Science and Engineering, this workshop will acquaint CSU faculty with the recent advances in computational science technologies and assist them in developing a curriculum plan involving one or more of these scientific visualization and/or modeling tools. The three-day workshop will include presentations by scientists from the San Diego Supercomputer Center, a series of hands-on-sessions, and provide a forum for sharing ideas on the best computational science practices in education within the CSU. The goal of this NSF and CSU-supported event is to build a community of CSU faculty who actively use computational science tools in their curriculum to better prepare students for post-baccalaureate employment. Following the workshop, the Ed Center will work to maintain contact with the participants, through consultations, curriculum and methodological help, and further exchange of experiences in teaching with computational science tools.
The Workshop Agenda can be found below. For any question, please call the Ed Center office at 619-594-0491.
