                You will be asked to prepare a written plan of your
                proposed project on July 28 and then give a short
                presentation on July 29.

                         * Sci Viz (Dr. Dave Thomas)
                         * LLNL (Brian Lindow)
                         * SIRC/JPL (Tony Freeman)
                         * MATLAB (Kris)
                         * Community of Explorers
                           (Randy Souviney and Denis Newman)

         Note: Everything you learn during the three weeks
                of this workshop should be viewed as your possible
                project.

                Your choice should be based on what appeals to you?
                What makes sense in your particular situation at your
                particular school site?

                We envision several levels for these projects,
                and this will be the level you choose based on
                your feeling of "comfort" with the material.

                Level 1: You plan to present one of the examples
                          (_________________ which one) using the
                          tool (________________) in your class
                          ____________ (specify which one).

                          Give a rough idea of how this example will
                          fit into your curriculum

                Level 2: You plan to use the tool _______________
                          and will modify the example ______________
                          to do ________________.

                          Give a rough idea of how this example will
                          fit into your curriculum

                Level 3: You plan to use the tool _______________
                          to develop a new example.

                          Give an idea of what the example will
                          entail, what it will accomplish and how
                          this fits into your own curriculum in
                          _________________.

         Electronic copies of your preliminary statement should be
         sent to Rick (rule@sdcc14.ucsd.edu) or Tim (towler@sdcc14.ucsd.edu)
         by July 28. These will become part of the STEP Electronic
         Archive in our WWW site: www-step.ucsd.edu
