This is an interdisciplinary course to introduce students in the sciences and engineering to advanced computing techniques using the Cray C98 and Intel Paragon Supercomputers at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). The computing projects will be focussed on using the Cray C98, though time will be available to students who would like to pursue programming on the Intel Paragon (which is now a stable system).
Our textbook is High Performance Computing by Kevin Dowd and Charles Severance. O'Reilly 294 pgs
