I have also been contacted by some students who were not able to complete strings (phase 2) by the deadline. Instead of providing a copy of the Phase 2 code, I feel it would serve our class goals better to provide Phase 3 code to everyone. We discussed in class the hints for this phase 17March08 and I indicated that it would be due Friday before spring break. http://www.stewart.cs.sdsu.edu/cs524/spr08/Phases/P3-IntDecl/intdecl_spr08.html It is essential that the next Phase you work on, as a group of 3 (or 2) students, start to tackle the Control Structures of While-Loops and If-Then-Elsif-Else (Phase 5) of our original project. (Section 6.6 Text) We should also have an introduction to the Run-Time structures that a compiler builds to implement procedure calls before we leave for spring break. (Chapter 7.1-7.3 is all we need for this semester) along with a look at Chapter 8 Code Generation (which you have already begun to handle in our project). I wanted to let you know about these dynamic changes in the plans for the class now, so that you do now put in too much time trying to work on implementing Integer Declaration (Phase 3). Have a good weekend and see you Monday. Kris Stewart stewart@rohan.sdsu.edu GMCS 535
