The success of this system depends crucially upon the participation of individual members of the faculty in the governance process. A call for nominations for Tenured and Tenure-Track faculty members and full-time counselors and librarians went out some time ago. Ballots should have been delivered to all eligible electors. The deadline for receipt of nominations has been extended to FRIDAY, MARCH 11, for all constituencies with vacancies other than the library. The deadline for librarian nominations is Monday, March 14. (Staff and lecturer elections are not yet underway.) While a few colleges already have sufficient numbers of nominees to fill their vacant seats, there are a few with seriously inadequate numbers of nominees. ADDITIONAL NOMINATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED FROM ALL COLLEGES THROUGH NOON FRIDAY, MARCH 11. Nominations may be delivered to The Senate, AD 221, MC 1621, or SENT VIA E-MAIL TO senate@mail.sdsu.edu Please obtain the agreement of all nominees to serve if elected. Self nominations are acceptable. Ballots have been distributed for the election of one SDSU Representative to the ACADEMIC SENATE, CSU (Statewide) and are due in the Senate Office no later than noon, Friday, March 11, 2005. Two separate ballots have been distributed for amendment of the SDSU Senate Constitution.
