Senate IT Committee Members - since you receive email on different machines on this campus, could you please keep track of how your own "IT Manager" takes care of informing your group of this email filtering project. please bring to our next Senate IT Committee Meeting (first thur Nov): Nov 3 2pm SS2601 (Electronic Board Room that Bongsik Shin suggested) thanks everyone, kris stewart Chair, University Senate IT committee ------------------------------------------------------------------ stewart@sdsu.edu Professor, Computer Science, San Diego State University 619.594.7243 GMCS 535 www.stewart.cs.sdsu.edu Director, Education Center on Computational Science & Engineering 619.594.0491 SDSU/LA 073 www.edcenter.sdsu.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------ Kris, I apologize for the delay in response. I was out last week, and have been digging out from under a pile ever since! This issue was taken up by the IT managers at a recent meeting with representatives from across campus. The group discussed the pros and cons of mail filtering at the server and/or the desktop. Each member was asked to go back to their division or department and come to the next meeting with additional input before further action is taken. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact either Scott Burns or Riny Ledgerwood directly.
