From: Riny Ledgerwood Subject: Reminder: E-mail System Date: Wed, 22 Feb 2006 22:44:28 PST To: All Faculty and Staff From: Riny Ledgerwood, Director Telecommunications and Network Services Re: Reminder: E-mail System The mail.sdsu.edu server will be down from 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24th, so we can change mail servers. Most account holders will see no difference. On February 23, please do not make any changes to your e-mail forwarding, vacation messages, and address book on webmail.sdsu.edu. This will help ensure that we are migrating a current version of your existing settings to the new system. There is one important change from the announcement I sent out on Monday, February 13, at 4:22 p.m. Due to feedback from the user community, the new system will identify spam messages, and tag them as {SPAM}; these messages *will be* delivered to your inbox. If you prefer, you will have the option of adjusting a setting in Webmail, that will enable you to have spam messages automatically stored in a Webmail Junk Mail folder. Spam stored in this manner will be saved for 30 days. For more information regarding the transition, please visit http://mailinfo.sdsu.edu . If you have questions, please e-mail workreq@mail.sdsu.edu or call the TNS Help Desk at 45261. The TNS help Desk is open from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
