1. FYI - Kris Stewart retires at end of Spr2013

My MS is progressing and there are things I want to do, travel during the spring and fall when temperatures are better for me, and after 29 years of service to SDSU, I will be retiring [1, 2, 3, 4]. Thought you would like to know. Another FYI, Dr. Khaled Morsi (and Mark Siprut and I) will be presenting at the 14Nov CTL lunch on our Poster. RVSP and join us for a free lunch at Faculty/Staff Center.

2. Felecia Vlahos, CISSP; Information Security Officer

Felecia V. would like to share about the Security Awareness booth hosted by SDSU Police last week. We taught students/faculty/staff how to secure their phones/mobile devices and record information in the event their device is lost or stolen.

3. Annual Agenda for our Committee [not sure if we made progress in Oct]

James Frazee (attending Educause today) suggested "In light of the campus-wide strategic planning process that is now underway, one key agenda item is relating to the role of online education at SDSU. For instance, where does SDSU want to be (this academic year, in the next 3-5 years)? Does online education present us with opportunities to extend access to new groups of students? Does online education enable new models of instruction? It is also important to note that the Senate AP&P committee will be reviewing the current SDSU Distance Education policy this year, and I think that they would greatly benefit from our input."
